Join us for a full day celebration of Belfast's marine biodiversity during National Marine Week! Explore species above and below the water with guided walks, expert talks, creative workshops, and an art exhibition.
We will explore the bird species that live on the Lagan with local ornithologist Dakota Reid. We will then join Erin McKeown to learn about the fish, seals, and otters that call the river home. The walk will take us to Ulster Wildlife's oyster nursery, where they are restoring a vital part of the ecosystem in Belfast Lough – oyster reef.
As we are guided along the river, we will have two creative workshops responding to the species we see living above and below the surface, facilitated by Wild Belfast's creative lead, Perla Mansour. The artwork created during the walk will be showcased along with an exhibition curated around Belfast's marine biodiversity with some live Jazz tunes at Native Coffee!
